Janet Marie @ The Goose's Garden Party

Colorful, natural or ohh so luxurious Janet Marie's felted products are a gift that keeps on giving.  Felted soap balls make the perfect lather to entice little ones to clean up as well as pamper those of us that made it a habit years ago.  Her coin purses are patterned, pretty and the utmost touchable.  For the full list of tidbits about the artists at The 2011 Goose's Garden Party click here.

Style File Friday: Mad Rollin' Dolls

Oh derby girls.  How I admire thee.  Of course this is coming from a tennis-playing-contact-avoiding-fragile-girl. Yes, fragile.  I'll try not to be too star struck while writing this week's Style File Friday.  You're welcome.

Haven't been to a roller derby bout before?  Well.  Well.  Well.  You certainly should attend at least one in your life time.  Where else can you see dressed up chicas of all shapes and sizes skating their hearts out in the name of team spirit?  Eh, and sometimes revenge.  If nothing else it will bring out the childhood urges in you to put on your skates (yes, you may need to buy a pair) and skate your heart out.  Beware though the falls hurt a lot more now than they did then.

What: Bout #4 All Hail the Queens
When: Saturday at 6pm
Where: Dane County Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center
More info: Mad Rollin Dolls Website

Mad Rollin' Dolls Outfit:

Locavore Tee (made in Iowa): $24
Skunk Funk Purse: $60
Flap Pocket Denim: $88

Enjoy the (almost) Spring weekend!
~Lauren

Chairs, chairs chairs!

A rainbow of locally found and refurbished chairs have found space in The Purple Goose.  They are looking for loving homes.
Sheila finds them sad and alone on roadsides, at estate sales and in antique shops.  She gives them a new lease on life with the love of a coat of paint and often a modern fabric cushion.
We can't stop day dreaming of a dining room table surrounded with these beauts, friends sitting in each one, everyone having a fabulous time.

Back at it again!

Birthday Shirts

More of the ever popular kid's birthday shirts are in the works!  With any luck I'll have a few finished up today and ready for tomorrow.

Just in case you don't know what in the world I am talking about:
Our birthday shirts are tees for wee ones with a number on the front (their age) proudly displayed for the world to see.  Each one is handmade right here at the Purple Goose by yours truly.

Special note on these colors: This is our last batch with these tee colors.  With the sale and  summer vacations quickly approaching I don't know when I'll get a chance to make more.  So, when these are gone they may be gone for awhile (not forever)- just an fyi.

Now get off the internet and enjoy the wonderful day we are having!

You Design It!

I like designing everything and despite what my hubby might say I don't think I am the only one.  From paint colors to reupholstering furniture and clothing I love customizing all of it!

So, when one of our locally jewelry artist, Bridget, was telling us how her button pendants and beaded necklaces can be mixed and matched a light went on.  How great would it be to let you be the ones to do the mixing and matching?  AWESOME!  We simply can't wait to see what you will come up with.

Pick a pendant, match a beaded necklace and then find pieces that can be interchanged.  Lovely!  The options really are endless.
